Due to the freezing rain received overnight, the Huntsville School District is currently under an Ice Storm Warning. With icy roads and unsafe travel conditions expected for this morning, we have decided to cancel school for today, January 22nd. The safety of our students and staff is always our first priority.
After careful consideration and evaluation of our current road conditions, we have decided that due to the still poor road conditions and being unable to run our bus routes safely, we will not be able to have school tomorrow, Friday, January 19th. If the Huntsville School District can reach 70% for our Free & Reduced percentage before October 1st, all students, regardless of income, will receive free meals for the next five years. This will save approximately $836 per student per year if you currently pay for breakfast and lunch. We are currently at 62% with over 500 students who still haven't completed an application.
