Please help us welcome Mr. Johnson to HMS!!!
"Hello, my name is Taylor Johnson. I will be serving as the 6th grade Social Studies teacher here at Huntsville Middle School this upcoming 2024-2025 school year. I am a graduate from John Brown University and have been living in Fayetteville for nearly three years now. Some of my hobbies/interests include running, photography, SEC football, hiking, camping, and travel. I am excited to be serving at Huntsville as well as teaching Ancient World History! I love learning about the world around me. For example, I once spent a week living in Northern Japan with a host family as part of a student ambassador program where I forged positive relationships with locals, learned about the history of the region, and engaged in local customs. I am looking forward to teaching the kids here and fostering in them an interest and excitement for the world around them."

Please join us in welcoming Matt Williams back to the Huntsville School District. Mr. Williams will be teaching 7th grade Science here at HMS!
“My name is Matt Williams. I am coming from Har-Ber High School in Springdale, and entering my 25th year in education.”
“I am originally from Texarkana, but I have been in northwest Arkansas the majority of my life. I am married to Chillone Williams, who works for the transportation department here in Huntsville. I have 2 kids that both graduated from Huntsville. My daughter Kayla is a pre-k teacher in Alva, OK where she lives with her husband Nick Ledbetter, who is also a Huntsville graduate. My son Camden is an electrical engineer in Kansas City. I love anything involving the water…swimming, kayaking, fishing. I am also trying to teach myself to play the guitar.”
“I got into education because of coaching. Previous to this year, I coached football for 27 years. 19 of those years were at Huntsville. The last 4 as head coach. This will be my first year just focusing on the classroom. I am excited for the new year and the opportunity to teach and motivate the students. Guiding students to enjoy learning and, giving them opportunities, and helping them to be successful is what motivates me. I guess a small interesting fact about me is that I walked on to play football at the University of Arkansas and played in the first ever Arkansas SEC game and won.”
I hope everyone has an amazing year.
Go Eagles!

We are excited to welcome Chonda Morin to Huntsville Middle School! Chonda comes to us from Huntsville Intermediate. Her new role will be the Dyslexia Interventionist for HMS.
“My Name is Chonda Morin and I was born and raised in Huntsville. My husband is Pete and together we have 4 amazing kids; Austin is our County Clerk, Blane is an electrician, Chase is a banker at CS bank, and Addie will be a freshman in high school this year. We also have a granddaughter Vivienne that we love to spoil every chance we get. I love to read and swim. My happy place is in the water.”
“I love seeing the kids learn and grow. The relationships you build with the students last a lifetime. Seeing the kids that have passed through our classrooms become successful adults is the best. I decided to become a teacher after my oldest son started Kindergarten. Huntsville is my home and I cannot imagine teaching anywhere else. I love what I do! I am also the Jr. High Cheer Coach this year and I love it. I have 27 girls this year on my squad and I cannot wait to see what this year has in store for us.”

“I enjoy gardening, playing pickleball, and camping. I grew up playing “school” with my beanie babies, so I’ve wanted to teach as long as I can remember. I love the creativity of teaching and leading students to love learning. I will be teaching 8th grade ELA.”

Join us in welcoming Mrs. Brandi Smith to Huntsville Middle School! Brandi comes to us from Huntsville High School and is now our newest Administrative Assistant!
Brandi was born and raised right here in Huntsville. She still resides in Huntsville with her husband, Anthony and their four children, Caden, Colby, Kaylee and Cannon. Her hobbies include RZR rides, taking spontaneous trips, and watching her kids play all the sports they are passionate about.
When asked what she loves most about working for Huntsville, she stated “I have been in the district going on 9 years, but 5 years hired on. Every day is different and never boring. I love working at a fast pace and staying busy. I love watching how students grow and learn more each year. I enjoy building relationships with my coworkers, and like meeting new people in our community through school.”
Fun fact about Brandi: I have 4 kids, but I like cool cars, so I drive a hotrod every day!
Favorite Quote: “Expect nothing. Appreciate everything”
We are excited to have Brandi here at HMS!
