The HHS principal is proud to announce that Senior Cynthia Ramirez has been accepted to the Quest Bridge Scholarship program. This is an elite group of students who have Ivy League-type aspirations. Cynthia's top choice for college is Stanford, but she is also interested in Rice, Vanderbilt, University of Southern California, Brown, Columbia, Duke, Yale, Princeton, or Colgate. She plans to major in biology and psychology. With that, she plans to be a pre-med major in hopes of becoming a surgeon one day. Cynthia would like to give a shout out to her parents, Pedro and Alma Ramirez, for all of their support over the years. She would also like to thank each one of her teachers who has inspired and assisted her along her educational journey. Cynthia is one of the hardest-working young women this school has seen, and all of us could not be prouder of her. She is an absolute gem, and we are beyond excited to see what this young lady will accomplish. We love you, Cynthia. You make us extremely proud to know you. Cynthia will know in December which school she will attend, and we can hardly wait to hear where our girl will get to go. #EagleNation72740

HHS Spanish Teacher Hayden Phillips received the Pre-service Edicator Award for the State of Arkansas. Mr. Phillips is an amazing educator, and we are elated to have him as an educator. Mr. Phillips is a first year teacher and graduate from the University of Arkansas. He was highly recommended by Dr. Boles of UofA, and we scored big when we got him! Mr. Waddell's botany class is doing a bit of gussying it up at HHS. They bought maroon mums and white mums to go with our hay bales donated by counselor, Mrs. Brown. We will also have pumpkins and a scarecrow added. Be sure to drive by next week to take a peek at it because we should be finished by then. #EagleNation72740

Just a reminder, that if your student previously qualified for free/reduced lunches, the deadline for the form was yesterday, Sept. 27. If the form was not filled out, your student(s) will be on full pay starting today. Please use the QR to fill out the form online. The principal also sent home a letter with students today. Remember: your student may not eat in the cafeteria; however, if he/she qualifies for free/reduced lunches, it is helping the school hit their mark if you fill it out. If we hit 70% qualifying students, all students in the district eat free. That is a big help to all families. Thank you for doing your part.
