According to weather forecasts, there is a possibility for dangerous road conditions tomorrow morning, February 12th. HSD is actively monitoring this weather event to determine if any changes to the school schedule or bus routes will be needed. Updates will be communicated via our messenger system by 6:00 AM tomorrow.
It's National School Counselor Week, and we could not let it pass without giving big thanks to the AMAZING counselors that we have here at HSD! They are not just a counselor; they are a mentor, a friend, and a believer in every student.

Due to the freezing rain received overnight, the Huntsville School District is currently under an Ice Storm Warning. With icy roads and unsafe travel conditions expected for this morning, we have decided to cancel school for today, January 22nd. The safety of our students and staff is always our first priority.

January is School Board Appreciation Month, and we would like to sincerely thank our School Board members for their service to the Huntsville School District. Our school board members are volunteers who assume critical responsibilities to help support public education and exemplify strong and consistent leadership that is aligned with the community's values. Their goal is always focused on the future success of the children at HSD. Thank you for all you do!
After careful consideration and evaluation of our current road conditions, we have decided that due to the still poor road conditions and being unable to run our bus routes safely, we will not be able to have school tomorrow, Friday, January 19th. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you!
